The purpose of this eBook is to prepare you for the world of lifting weights. Initially I was going to title this ebook “A Beginners Guide to Powerlifting” but I decided to be more vague as I found most people don’t care too much about labels and just go to the gym to get strong and build muscle. Of course, if you're actually interested in powerlifting, then this is the eBook for you.

This will prepare you for pure powerlifting if that is your goal. Learning the basics is essential before learning something like a wide stance sumo deadlift.

In this eBook, I’ll go over various training principles and actually teach you how to perform the basic exercises. At the end, I’ll provide a program that you can follow for 6–8 months.

It seems a lot of people want to train like me and perform the squat, bench, and deadlift like I do. But a lot of tutorials out there are hyperfocused on powerlifting and teaching the competition style lifts. So I thought I'd make a guide on how to perform the big 3 like I do and give other general advice.

The exercises taught in this eBook are the exercises in their pure form (not optimized for competition, for example: high bar ATG squat rather than low bar squat). Even if your goal is to compete in powerlifting competitions or focus exclusively on bodybuilding, you will still need these exercises when you are advanced.

Think of this eBook and program as a broad introduction that will prepare you for more advanced programs that are specific to your goals.

No previous experience is required.

Some topics covered in this e-book:

  • Why you should learn the “pure” versions of the lifts
  • What equipment and gear you actually need
  • How to Squat Deep
  • Mobility and recommended exercises
  • How Bench and Deadlift
  • Programming

With this guide, I hope it’ll make the learning process a lot easier. This e-book will prepare you for the world of lifting weights!
